Your vacation home is one of only three handcrafted natural homes by Ebner 1822. It’s situated in a special spot above the Gurk Valley, with an unobstructed view across the meadows, toward the natural pond, and all the way to the Karawanken Mountains. Wood from our own forest, straw, and clay create spaces that feel warm, peaceful, and natural. Upstairs, you’ll find a box-spring bed, a freestanding bathtub with a view, and a rain shower. After a day outdoors, the wood-burning stove and the private hydro-sauna cabin with a bio-sauna and infrared heating will warm you up. In the morning, we’ll bring you a breakfast basket filled with select regional and organic foods. In our small village tavern, the chef also cooks for our guests upon advance reservation. Ebner 1822 is neither a resort nor a chalet village. It is a personally managed retreat for people who don’t want to experience more and more, but rather want to reconnect with the world around them.
Nature and surroundings
Ebner 1822 is situated on a sunny plateau at an elevation of about 1,000 meters above sea level, surrounded by flower-filled meadows, forests, and the rolling hills of the Carinthian Nockberge Mountains. Each season gives this place its own rhythm: In spring, life returns to the meadows; in summer, the high altitude and cool nights offer pleasant refreshment. Fall brings clear views, warm colors, and peaceful trails. In winter, the landscape grows still; the snow muffles every sound, and inside, the fire crackles. You can set out on a hike right from the house, explore the landscape on snowshoes, relax by the natural pond, or simply stay on your own terrace and watch as the light and weather change over the valley. Lakes, alpine pastures, and the trails of the Nockberge Biosphere Reserve are easily accessible. But what makes this place special is often right nearby: in the scent of a meadow, in the first snow, or in a morning when nothing needs to be decided yet.

Free cancellation within 7 days of your booking confirmation, provided the booking request was made more than 28 days before the start date. For bookings starting within 28 days, free cancellation applies within 24 hours. If you cancel within the specified period, you are entitled to a full refund of the booking amount.
After that, you will receive a partial refund of the trip cost and a 100% refund of the deposit:
• Up to 42 days before arrival: 70% refund
• 42–28 days before arrival: 40% refund
• 28 days through the day of arrival: 10% refund
• On the day of arrival or later: no refund
- Out of respect for nature: silence between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
- Minimum age of main booker: 18 years.
- Smoking is not allowed in this nature house.
- No fireworks are allowed at this Nature House.
- No parties or events are allowed.
- This nature house is not suitable for groups of young people, students and sports teams.
- Waste separation is mandatory in this nature house.
