In the countryside, within the triangle formed by Cordes-sur-Ciel (81), Najac (12), and St-Antonin-Noble-Val (82), you’ll find our dovecote, which is available for your use, 14 km from Cordes and 35 km from Albi and Villefranche-de-Rouergue, in the Aveyron Valley (the river is 150 m away), surrounded by beautiful and varied landscapes (geological fault) . Until the Revolution, only the nobility were allowed to own a dovecote. In the past, pigeons were kept in the attic, and grain was stored below. Since then, a dovecote has long remained a symbol of prestige. We have transformed ours into a pleasant and comfortable vacation rental, while preserving its authenticity. The setting is very pleasant and relaxing. We live next door, but your private entrance and privacy are guaranteed. The property is situated on a large plot (1 ha) where your children can run around, play on the swing, and climb in the treehouse. There’s also a ping-pong table and foosball table under cover (in the barn). The pool is for your exclusive use—5x10x1.40 m, with a flat bottom.

We are located on a geological fault line, with limestone landscapes to the west—where the Aveyron River has carved deep gorges around St. Antonin—and more rugged schist landscapes to the east, where the Viaur River has carved its valleys. To the south lies the Tarn River, with the beautiful “red city” of Albi on its banks. To the north are the lovely departments of Aveyron and Lot. All of this contributes to a very diverse array of flora and fauna in the surrounding area. Canoeing, caving, hiking, paragliding, biking, and more—there’s no shortage of things to do in the area. Around the cottage, you’ll find plenty of flowers (in a natural meadow), especially in the spring, and a rich variety of wildlife, including birds, lizards, bats, deer, and more. And our two free-range laying hens. Of course, there are also medieval villages to visit, such as Cordes-sur-Ciel, Laguépie, Najac, St. Antonin, Penne, Bruniquel, and many others.
