A charming and idyllically situated, comfortable, newly built vacation cottage of over 60 m², located in the heart of De Rottige Meente Nature Park, a Frisian offshoot of De Weerribben. The cottage is located 1 km from the road on the banks of De Scheene and accommodates 3–4 people. Here you can enjoy peace, space, quiet, and plenty of opportunities for hiking, biking, canoeing, and swimming in the small river. It’s an ideal spot for nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet. Our cottage is equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Cozy and comfortable living room with underfloor heating and air conditioning, a small, well-equipped open kitchen, and a washer-dryer. Upstairs are two bedrooms: a spacious 18 m² room with a double bed (2 x 80 x 200 cm) and air conditioning, and a compact 4 m² room with a double bed (140 x 200 cm) and air conditioning. There is also a toilet and a bathroom with a shower. Sunny terrace on three sides. A small ferry for crossing the water, a rowboat, canoes, and a ping-pong table are available for use.
Nature and surroundings
Nature Around the Location The Rottige Meente, a Frisian offshoot of De Weerribben, is a small but remarkable nature reserve featuring peat pits, flower-rich grasslands, quaking bogs, and reed beds. Various hiking and biking trails offer a varied landscape with a rich diversity of birdlife and a high chance of spotting rare species. Here you may encounter otters, roe deer, purple herons, buzzards, storks, geese, ducks, swans, and grass snakes, among others. Species such as the rare Large Copper butterfly and the Green Hawker dragonfly also live here. Nearby (cycling) destinations include: De Weerribben, De Tjongervallei, Driewegsluis, Echtenerbrug/Tjeukemeer, Woudagemaal in Lemmer, Oranjewoud Estate, and Museum Belvedère. The “Rondje Rottige Meente – Wolvega” bike route is 41.5 km long and winds along the banks of the Linde River through the landscape of southeastern Friesland, passing villages and nature reserves.

Free cancellation within 7 days of your booking confirmation, provided the booking request was made more than 28 days before the start date. For bookings starting within 28 days, free cancellation applies within 24 hours. If you cancel within the specified period, you are entitled to a full refund of the booking amount.
After that, you will receive a partial refund of the trip cost and a 100% refund of the deposit:
• Up to 42 days before arrival: 70% refund
• 42–28 days before arrival: 40% refund
• 28 days through the day of arrival: 10% refund
• On the day of arrival or later: no refund
A deposit of €500.00 applies. You will be refunded after check-out.
