Nature house in Nesbyen

Welcome to Høgbu, our family's simple mountain cabin high above Nesbyen. My name is Mick, and this cabin has been part of my family for years - a place we return to for peace, fresh air, and that cozy Norwegian "hyttekos" feeling. Step onto the terrace and you're met with sweeping mountain views, best enjoyed with a coffee in hand or in the evening as the sky turns pink. Inside, the wood stove crackles while you relax on the couch with a book or board game from our little collection. Høgbu sleeps up to 6 guests, with one double bed, one bunk bed, and a sofa if needed. The kitchen has everything for simple cooking, and a heat pump keeps things warm (or cool) year-round. This is a true off-grid cabin - there's no running water, so please bring your own or filter it from the nearby spring. The toilet is a simple compost toilet, easy to use once you know how. If you love slowing down and disconnecting, Høgbu is exactly the place.

Høgbu sits in the hills of Buskerud, in the heart of Hallingdal - a region Norwegians themselves flock to for skiing, hiking, and quiet nature. You're just 15 minutes from Nesbyen Alpine Ski Center, perfect for downhill runs in winter, and right on cross-country ski trails, hiking paths, and cycling routes you can access straight from the cabin door. In summer, the surrounding forests and trails invite long walks and cycling, with wildlife and birdsong as your only company. In winter, the snow-covered hills turn the whole area into a playground for skiing. Nesbyen town itself is a short drive away, with shops, a grocery store, and local amenities for anything you need. Nearby you'll also find Hallingdal Museum and Langedrag Nature Park, both worth a visit during your stay.
