Welcome to our camping cabin at Zwanenburg Campground in Jislum! A small, cozy nature campground in North Friesland. Come relax and enjoy the rural Frisian surroundings here. The cabin features a clean bathroom, a kitchen with a refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, and kitchenware. There are two bedrooms, each with two separate box-spring beds. The campground has playground equipment for the kids, and they can row the boats or pedal boats for free. There’s often a cozy campfire. Visit the Frisian Wadden Sea coast or the nearby nature reserves (Eernewoude/Lauwersoog). Go for a nice walk or bike ride. Just 1 km away, you’ll find a boat, SUP, and canoe rental for beautiful trips. Or take the ferry from Holwerd to Ameland! Want to go mudflat walking? Day trips to the historic Frisian Eleven Cities—Dokkum, Leeuwarden, and Harlingen—are easy to do from the campground. Or just relax and do absolutely nothing. You can even rent the hot tub in an old sea buoy at the campground.
Nature and surroundings
The campground is a small campground, ideal for families with young children. Here you’ll find peace and space. This small, cozy nature campground in North Friesland is located on a small natural lake with a grassy beach. Around the campground, you can fully enjoy the characteristic Frisian landscape with its mound villages while biking or hiking. You can also explore beautiful canoe routes in the immediate vicinity. From the water, you’ll see the beautiful, varied landscape from a whole new perspective. The campground is located 2 km from the Elfstedentocht route. Come to this campground if you love nature. If there are enough guests, there’s a cozy campfire in the evening. Children can build rafts or go boating on the small lake. There’s also a 3.5-hectare forest where they can build a treehouse. What can you expect in the area? Eetljemeer for swimming, 4 km away; Dokkum, one of the Eleven Cities, 8 km away; Lauwersoog swimming and nature reserve, 25 km away; Leeuwarden, 15 km away; and the Aquazoo zoo.
