Nature house in Sprimont

Unfortunately, the cottage was a letdown. When we lit the wood stove, the smoke didn’t vent properly through the chimney but instead filled the room, causing the entire cottage to fill with smoke. The refrigerator was also broken. There was a small replacement mini-fridge, but it could barely hold anything; even a bottle of wine was too big. In addition, the bathroom/toilet was separated by folding doors instead of a regular door. Because it was right next to the kitchen and living room, noises and odors were noticeable everywhere. Finally, there were only large, bright lights, so there was no ambient lighting. With a little more attention to maintenance, privacy, and comfort, the stay could have been much more pleasant.

Helaas viel het huisje tegen. Bij het aansteken van de houtkachel werd de rook niet goed via de schoorsteen afgevoerd, maar kwam deze de kamer in, waardoor het hele huisje vol rook stond. Ook was de koelkast kapot. Er stond wel een klein vervangend koelkastje, maar daar paste nauwelijks iets in; zelfs een fles wijn was te groot. Daarnaast was de badkamer/wc afgesloten met klapdeuren in plaats van een normale deur. Omdat deze direct aan de keuken en woonkamer grensde, waren geluiden en geuren overal merkbaar. Tot slot waren er alleen grote, felle lampen aanwezig, waardoor sfeerverlichting ontbrak. Met wat meer aandacht voor onderhoud, privacy en comfort had het verblijf een stuk aangenamer kunnen zijn.

A beautiful, peaceful location. The road leading there from the parking lot is very steep, so you have to be careful not to slip.

Mooie rustige locatie. De weg erheen vanaf de parkeerplek is erg stijl en je moet uitkijken dat je niet weggleid.
