The Casa Durone vacation home is probably the oldest house in the village. Rustic and incredibly cozy. It features a living-dining room with an adjoining kitchen, and three bedrooms and a bathroom on the upper floor. One bedroom has a double bed, and two have single beds. With five beds, it’s ideal for couples and families. The house features open, covered porches on both the ground and upper floors, and the garden has a stone seating area with a view of the garden and the mountains. The house is located next to a small stream and the forest. It was renovated in such a way that its original structure is still visible today. Natural stone walls and ancient chestnut beams have been left exposed. It’s about a 15-minute walk to Falmenta, where you’ll find the bar and post office, as well as parking and the bus stop. You can set out on hikes right from the house—taking short loops around Falmenta, venturing into the wild Val Grande, or hiking all the way to Cannobio on Lake Maggiore.
