A charming and simple place to stay where the indoors and outdoors blend seamlessly. From the large windows, you can look out over the meadows and the nature campground. You’ll have a comfortable double bed, a private kitchenette with cold running water, a sitting and dining area, and everything you need for a relaxing stay. The restrooms are located in the well-maintained restroom building on the campground, just a short walk away. The Bûtenferbliuw accommodates up to four people and is a great base for hikers, cyclists, water sports enthusiasts, or anyone who wants to spend a few days living in the great outdoors. Explore the Frisian countryside, visit Sneek, or simply enjoy a cup of coffee with a view of the landscape. It’s not a luxury hotel or a traditional B&B, but a place where simplicity, space, and the outdoors take center stage.
Nature and surroundings
Sjaerdemahof is located in the open Frisian countryside, nestled among the meadows and just a short distance from Sneek and Lake Sneekermeer. From the property, you can walk or bike right into nature, passing along dikes, canals, and the picturesque villages of the Elfstedentocht route. The area is popular with hikers, cyclists, birdwatchers, and water sports enthusiasts. Despite its peaceful setting, the lively atmosphere of Sneek, its cozy outdoor cafes, and shops are just a few minutes away. The Sneekermeer is also nearby for a day on or by the water. On the grounds themselves, you can enjoy the open space, the greenery, and the intimate atmosphere of the nature campground. Children can play freely, and you’re welcome to stop by the tea garden for a cup of coffee or a treat.
