Nature house in Wald-Michelbach

I thought it was a really nice place to stay. The yurt is great, and so was the hospitality. I really felt welcome. I also liked the outdoor kitchen.

Ik vond het een heel fijne plek om te verblijven. De yurt is geweldig en de ontvangst ook. Ik voelde me echt welkom. Ik vond de buitenkeuken ook leuk.

Beautiful location, peaceful, nice surroundings, great atmosphere. I was just passing through, but I would have liked to stay a little longer.

Prachtige ligging, rust, leuke omgeving, fijne sfeer. Ik was op doorreis, maar had nog wel wat langer willen blijven.

Andrea and Dieter were wonderful hosts who reached out to us before, during, and even after our trip. They’ve lived there for over 20 years, and you can tell by the property: everything seems to have grown organically, with small, exquisite details everywhere—art blends seamlessly with nature. We had great conversations with both of them and received such valuable tips for our stay.
The toilet is a real flush toilet. The outhouse is outdoors, and you’re welcome to decorate the inside with wax crayons. The shower isn’t heated in the summer and is also located right outside. The kitchen area is covered and invites you to sit down. A small freezer is available. We were lucky enough not to have to share the property with any other guests. Currently, there are two yurts there (one small, one larger).
The yurt was very cozy. A mattress on a slatted frame. It works. There are so many other lovely details that you’ll have to discover for yourselves when you visit ;-)

Andrea und Dieter waren wundervolle Gastgeber, die sich bereits vor der Reise, währenddessen und sogar danach gemeldet haben. Sie wohnen dort schon über 20 Jahre und das sieht man dem Grundstück an: alles wirkt organisch gewachsen, überall kleine feine Details, Kunst geht in Natur über. Wir haben uns prima mit beiden unterhalten und so wertvolle Tipps für unseren Aufenthalt erhalten.
Die Toilette ist eine richtige Wassertoilette. Das Toilettenhäuschen steht im Freien und darf innen mit Wachsstiften gestaltet werden. Die Dusche ist im Sommer nicht beheizt und steht ebenfalls direkt im Freien. Die Küche ist überdacht und lädt zum Sitzen ein. Eine kleine Kühltruhe ist vorhanden. Wir hatten das Glück, das Grundstück mit keinen weiteren Gästen teilen zu müssen. Aktuell stehen dort zwei Jurten (eine kleine, eine größere).
Die Jurte war sehr gemütlich. Matratze auf Lattenrost. Passt. So viel schöne weitere Details, die ihr selbst bei einem Besuch herausfinden müsst ;-)

We were a couple of friends who stayed in the small yurt from July 13 to 17, 2026, and felt right at home. The property is situated on a hillside and borders a wooded area. As city kids, the first thing we noticed, of course, was the silence: wonderful silence! Little by little, other impressions came into focus: the buzzing of insects, the chirping of various birds, hares, a fox, squirrels, deer...
We traveled by train and took the Michelbus almost right up to the house. The Michelbus is a local on-demand taxi service. You can find it online.
Surroundings: Perfect for day trips and hikes. We got around exclusively on foot. That means you have to plan a bit when it comes to grocery shopping or eating out. There are a few restaurants and cafés, though they aren’t always open. The amazing Trommturm is also nearby (a 30-minute walk)! If you have a car, you’d have access to everything the Odenwald has to offer. But it’s also easy to get around using public transportation.

Wir haben als Freundespaar vom 13. bis 17. Juli 2026 in der kleinen Jurte gewohnt und haben uns pudelwohl gefühlt. Das Grundstück liegt am Hang und grenzt an ein Waldstück. Uns Stadtkindern fiel natürlich zuerst die Stille auf: herrliche Stille! Nach und nach kamen andere Eindrücke hinzu: Das Summen der Insekten, das Zwitschern verschiedender Vögel, Hasen, ein Fuch, Eichhörnchen, Rehe ...
Wir sind per Bahn angereist und haben uns vom Michelbus bis nahe ans Haus fahren lassen. Der Michelbus ist ein lokales Bestelltaxi. Findet man im Internet.
Umgebung: Wunderbar für Ausflüge und Wanderungen geeignet. Wir waren nur zu Fuß unterwegs. Da muss man etwas Planen bei den Einkäufen oder beim Essengehen. Es gibt ein paar Gaststätten und Cafés, allerdings nicht immer geöffnet. In der Nähe (30 Min. zu Fuß) befindet sich auch der tolle Trommturm! Mit dem Auto hätte man alle Möglichkeiten des Odenwaldes. Aber es geht auch gut mit ÖPNV.
