In late 1999, I discovered an old farmhouse in Farigliano. The owner was a kind, single man in his 80s. He no longer lived on the farm, but would come by every now and then to do odd jobs. His nephew Aldo was the contact person for viewings. The wine cellar section was built around 1700, and two additional sections were later added. This is clearly visible on the rear facade of the farmhouse. In October 2020 (at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic), I finally bought the house along with 2.5 hectares of land. It was incredibly exciting, but I haven’t regretted it for a moment. I hope you enjoy the house and the surroundings just as much as I do. The farmhouse offers complete privacy, yet is located just 5 minutes from the beautiful village of Dogliani. You’ll find all the amenities there—restaurants, supermarkets, and a wonderful market on Tuesday mornings. There’s a lovely public swimming pool just 10 minutes away.
Nature and surroundings
Feel free to explore the area. There’s a path to the right of the barn, across from the house. Walk straight ahead until you can’t go any further and see the spring on your left. If you walk up to the right and follow the path, you’ll eventually come to a field of herbs below the vineyard. The row of trees below the herb field marks the boundary of our land. A little further down, you’ll come across our hazelnut grove. Don’t forget to wear long pants, because you’ll encounter quite a few weeds. There are various pairs of boots in the barn. Maybe you’ll find your size among them. In Dogliani, you can get maps for various hiking trails at the tourist office.
