Le Romarin is a spacious and bright house, built in 1990. It is well-insulated and features high ceilings and doors. The kitchen is fully equipped. Large, bright bedrooms. Two bathrooms, one on each floor. The interior is tastefully decorated with antiques and vintage pieces, with plenty of space for luggage and groceries. A fireplace provides warmth and ambiance, while the pool offers a refreshing escape. The house is a detached property next to a medieval castle. Neighbors are at least 60 meters away. The large garden offers beautiful views of the woods. There is a garage for storing bicycles and an electric charging station. There are plenty of comfortable chairs for the garden or the patio. A barbecue and a canoe are also available.
Nature and surroundings
The natural surroundings are incredibly beautiful and within walking distance of the cottage. There are vast oak and beech forests. You can really walk there for hours without running into anyone. There are forest trails everywhere that are well maintained by the hunters, who are only there on Sundays from October through March. It’s fantastic to walk there alone or with a dog. Another great thing: there are no signs anywhere. Just the forest. It’s hilly, beautiful, and not dangerous. It’s a patchwork of forest, meadows, and farmland. Birdwatchers will be in heaven—hoppers, golden orioles, red kites… And there’s plenty of wildlife too—roe deer, red deer, foxes, badgers, and wildcats; I come across them every day. Then there’s La Voie Bleue, which was paved a few years ago—it’s the hunting trail along the Saône. It’s designed especially for cyclists, but it’s also a wonderful place to walk and enjoy nature along the Saône—there are plenty of kingfishers there, too. It’s about 5 kilometers from the gîte. There are also beautiful towns to visit, such as Belfort, Langres, Fayl Billot, and Besançon.
