A lovely home, with beautiful natural light and tastefully decorated. The ground floor features a sitting area with a TV (Netflix and NLZiet), a dining area, and a kitchenette with an induction cooktop, a combination oven/microwave, a toaster, a kettle, a Brita filter, Nespresso (compatible) and filter coffee maker, and a wide range of kitchen essentials. The stairwell closet contains cleaning supplies and a fly screen. Upstairs, you’ll find a large bedroom with a double bed, a luggage rack, and a dresser. Next to it is a bedroom with a bunk bed (PLEASE NOTE: no bed rail) and a single bed. The bathroom has a toilet, a shower, a sink, a towel rack, and a storage cabinet. All rooms have heating. The patio features a seating area, a dining table, and a barbecue. This house is located between the main house and another cottage, separated by fencing and hedges. The pool and garden are for shared use. The property is fully fenced; the rear section serves as a mini-campground during the summer months.
Nature and surroundings
Our house and both guesthouses are nestled among meadows and forests, with several hiking trails nearby. The forests are home to deer, wild boars, foxes, and many species of birds. The days are long and warm, and the nights are dark, filled with thousands of stars. Birdsong and the chirping of crickets are the sounds you’ll hear during the day; in the evening, you can hear the deer. In the immediate vicinity, you can go canoeing, biking, and fishing. The nearest supermarket and bakery are 10 minutes away. Larger supermarkets can be found in La Rochefoucauld and Ruffec. Larger cities such as Limoges, Angoulême, and Poitiers are within a 60-km radius. On the terrace by the main house, you can enjoy a meal, a drink, or an ice cream. We, Sandra and Vincent, grow our own fruits and vegetables, and we have fresh eggs from our chickens every day. We have two (old, small) dogs and five cats.
