This nature house is a picturesque little house in the hamlet of La Faye, a small settlement with just five houses. Built in the style of the old Allier farmhouses, with thick walls and small windows, it stays pleasantly cool inside even on hot summer days. From the private terrace at the back, you can look out over green hills, meadows, and the buzzards soaring above the landscape. When evening falls and tranquility sets in, the view from the terrace is at its most beautiful. Here you can enjoy the open space, the silence, and the feeling of being completely away from it all. Inside, the cottage is simply yet fully furnished. You’ll find two double beds (an additional single mattress is available), an old-fashioned claw-foot bathtub, and a kitchenette with an oven. When it gets a bit colder, you can light the wood stove. It’s a very comfortable, no-fuss cottage, offering above all peace and space all around you.
Nature and surroundings
The immediate surroundings are very wooded. A walking trail that runs past our spot takes you to the little river “le Bouble.”There are shallow sections there—perfect for the little ones—and some deeper spots where you can go for a quick swim. You can wade through the water to the other side or walk across a small footbridge, which takes you straight into the woods. If you prefer the rolling meadows with their hedgerows and plenty of cows, you’ll find plenty to enjoy here as well. You can go for lovely walks, horseback riding, biking, playing, stargazing, swimming, and more. And the Allier region is known for its abundance of castles!
