Enjoy nature and culture at the Waardenburg and Neerijnen estate! You’ll be staying in picturesque Neerijnen in a 4x4 room in an outbuilding attached to my home. The room has its own outside entrance. You’ll have access to a private shower and toilet, which are located just outside (under a covered area). You’ll also have your own seating area on the patio, where you can enjoy the garden and the many birds. With a little luck, you’ll hear the owls around the house at night and see storks flying overhead nearby. The room has a double sofa bed, providing a spacious seating area during the day that you can easily convert into a double bed in the evening. The room also includes a refrigerator, electric kettle, coffee maker, and dining utensils, and you’ll have shared use of my kitchen, located right next to your bathroom. You’re welcome to store your bikes in the owner’s shed, and you can safely park your car on the property. A bus stop is 300 meters away.
Nature and surroundings
Tucked away in the Betuwe region lies the Waardenburg and Neerijnen estate, owned by Het Geldersch Landschap, where you can enjoy wonderful walks and bike rides. From your accommodations, you can walk right onto the estate and enjoy the lush castle garden and the many birds. Within walking distance, you’ll also find a clog path through the floodplains, which even has a small swimming beach (for strong swimmers, as it’s the Waal River). The property is an ideal base for birdwatchers. The estate is also known for its many species of mushrooms that emerge in the fall. We had a really wonderful weekend in Neerijnen. Anke gave us a warm welcome and was very responsive to all our questions. The garden was in full bloom, so we got to enjoy all the butterflies! The apartment is small but cozy, with enough space for two people, and the sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable. It’s also easily accessible by OV-fiets from the Zaltbommel train station.
Wij hebben een heel fijn weekend gehad in Neerijnen. We werden fijn ontvangen door Anke en ze was erg goed bereikbaar voor al onze vragen. De tuin was vol in bloei, waardoor we konden genieten van alle vlinders! Het appartementje is klein maar fijn, genoeg ruimte voor twee mensen en de slaapbank lag verassend goed. Ook goed bereikbaar met de ov-fiets vanaf station Zaltbommel.
