La Bergerie is an old stone shepherd’s hut, tucked away in the wooded hills above Saint-Paul-en-Forêt. At the end of a paved driveway, halfway up the slope, you’ll find the peace and quiet you’re looking for. No neighbors, no traffic, just the wind rustling through the oak trees and the chirping of crickets. This is a genuine family home full of character, not a sterile vacation rental. Thick natural stone walls keep the heat out, and everywhere you look, you can tell this place is lived in with love. Inside, a spacious living room with a fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, and a glass-enclosed sunroom that can be completely closed off. Upstairs, two air-conditioned bedrooms and a renovated bathroom, with room for six to eight people.Outside, there’s a large private pool (6x12 meters, fenced and safe for children), a private bocce court under the trees, and 1.5 hectares of terraced woodland to lose yourself in.
Nature and surroundings
La Bergerie is located in the green foothills of the Esterel Mountains, known for their red rocks. All around are nothing but forests, hills, and silence. In the morning, you wake up to the sound of birds; in the evening, the sky turns orange above the treetops and a star-filled sky appears. There is no light pollution here yet. And of course, there are also insects and butterflies, and if you’re lucky, you might hear a wild boar searching for acorns. Nearby, you can go fishing, horseback riding, gliding, and enjoy water sports. The large Lac de Saint-Cassien is just ten minutes away for a refreshing swim. Golfers will find Terre Blanche (36 holes, the largest golf course in Western Europe) ten minutes away. The most beautiful medieval villages are just around the corner: Fayence, Seillans, Grasse, and Draguignan, with their small squares, markets, old-fashioned bakeries, and cozy terraces. Restaurants for every occasion, from simple village cafés to Michelin-starred establishments. The Côte d'Azur (Cannes, Fréjus, Saint-Raphaël) is a half-hour drive away, and Nice Airport is 45 minutes away.
