Just a stone's throw from the picturesque village of Hantum and the historic Elfsteden town of Dokkum, you will find a unique place to stay: the 'Olle Hansenhaus'. This characterful farmhouse with blue shutters has a generous garden. Located on a quiet, no-through road, this farmhouse still exudes the authenticity of the past, combined with the comforts of today. The house is owned by German artist Peter T. Schulz, whose books and calendars have touched millions of people for fifty years. This house and its surroundings have often been the setting for his poetic-philosophical photographs, images and poems. More than a thousand friends and guests from around the world camped here, made art, shot films, wrote books and celebrated life. Now you can experience the special atmosphere of this place!
Nature and surroundings
Outside, an attractive covered terrace invites you to dine endlessly during long summer evenings, overlooking the vast Frisian countryside. The huge 3,600 m² garden is a true paradise for young and old. Children can enjoy themselves with bicycles, outdoor toys, a trampoline and there is even a cheerful mobile home. There is also a terrace by the water where you can enjoy the peace and quiet or take a canoe to explore the ditches. For the real outdoor enthusiasts, there is even an outdoor shower.
