This is a 17th-century cottage on a 2-hectare property located in the Dordogne Valley—also known as the Périgord or Aquitaine region—in the Lot department, between Rocamadour and Sarlat. It enjoys a peaceful setting, tucked away between the woods and fields, surrounded by unspoiled nature. The nature house is accessible via a 500-meter private road from Le Castanet, a hamlet of seven houses, and has its own parking area. This cottage is an ideal base for exploring the Périgord. The Dordogne River—"avec tous ses plaisirs"—is a 10-minute drive away. Next to this nature house is a beautiful swimming pond, where no chlorine or other chemicals are added, so there’s no risk of skin or eye irritation for the children. The water is filtered using a plant-based filtration system. This ensures that everyone can enjoy swimming in crystal-clear, soft, and healthy water.
Nature and surroundings
The Dordogne Valley is a beautiful region in southern France, known for its unspoiled nature, authentic villages, and medieval castles. The Périgord is known for its rich history, charming markets, flea markets, and its extensive culinary scene. From here, you can go on beautiful nature walks, explore the region by bike via the cycle route network, or simply relax on the patio—because doing nothing can be exciting too. The pool is fully fenced, which isn’t clearly visible in the photos. Rocamadour is 27 km away, Sarlat 25 km, the Lascaux Caves 40 km, the Gouffre de Padirac 25 km, and Collonges-la-Rouge 25 km.
