We are Stef & Nicky, and in the fall of 2018 we moved from Belgium to a small village in the Dordogne to open a bed and breakfast. The village is Saint-Martin-des-Combes, located between Bergerac and Périgueux. We have a total of 3 double rooms and 1 triple room, each with its own shower and toilet. Outside, there are several seating areas and, of course, the seasonally heated pool. For the active guests, there is a petanque court and a ping-pong table available, and we also rent out electric bikes (2 mountain bikes and 2 women’s bikes). We provide breakfast in the morning, and those who wish can also reserve a spot for the tables d’hôtes in the evening (5 days a week). It’s also good to know that there’s a small grocery store 5 km away, where you can pick up a baguette and some cheese for lunch, for example.
Nature and surroundings
Our bed and breakfast is located in the heart of a small village, yet it’s very peaceful here! The area is heavily forested, so there’s plenty of wildlife to hear and see. Nature lovers will be pleased to know that three hiking trails (5 km, 7 km, 13 km) start right in front of our B&B, and for those looking for longer walks, the trails in the surrounding villages can also be explored. It’s an interconnected network. If you’re looking for some culture, drive through the green countryside to your destination: Bergerac, Périgueux, Sarlat, castles, local markets, vineyards, caves, and more. There’s truly something for everyone.
