Nature house in Leens

We, Iris and Ronald, run this cozy cottage on the Hoornse Vaart, where you can watch various boats pass by on the water during the day and enjoy spectacular sunsets in the evening. The cottage features a comfortable double bed (queen-size), a small sofa, a wood-burning stove, a dining table with chairs, and a fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, induction cooktop, combination microwave, dishwasher, and washing machine. There are two single beds in the loft. The bathroom includes a toilet, shower, and sink. Bed linens and towels are provided. The cottage is located at the back of the garden with unrestricted access, including use of the corner sofa. Basic necessities such as toilet paper, tea, and coffee are provided. If you use something up, please restock it. Ideal for hikers, cyclists, readers, anglers, birdwatchers (there are beautiful species to spot at Lauwersmeer), nature lovers, those seeking peace and quiet, and foodies—as there are plenty of great culinary experiences to discover in the area.

't Stort is a small neighborhood community located just outside Leens, right on the Hoonse Vaart (navigable), with sweeping views of the surrounding meadows. In Leens itself, there are numerous amenities, such as a Jumbo, an Aldi, a pet store, a bakery, a swimming pool, a garden center, a snack bar, and a health center. On the outskirts of Leens (if you walk or bike up from 't Stort along the bike path) lies the Verhildersum Estate, featuring beautiful rotating exhibitions in the museum farm, a tour of the manor house itself, and the chance to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee or lunch at Ons Schathoes. Looking for a day trip? Then the De Ploeg Museum in Wehe-den Hoorn and the Wadden Sea World Heritage Center in Lauwersoog are highly recommended, and they’re great places to grab a bite to eat as well. In the immediate vicinity, you’ll also find villages such as Winsum, Zoutkamp, and Pieterburen, each with several good restaurants. Prefer to stay in?
