La Petite Maison is an authentic, enchanting 3-bedroom self-contained gîte for up to 6 people, surrounded by nature in a picturesque setting with a rich history. A tranquil place aimed at helping you recharge and reap the benefits of reconnecting with nature and being outdoors. Ideal for families with older children, or a small group of friends looking to spend time together. Whilst respecting its heritage, La Petite Maison offers a spacious and welcoming environment for your nature holiday with all modern comforts. It has a terrace with shaded pergola for dining alfresco and stargazing, with views over the meadow, pool and woodland. The gîte overlooks the traditional French courtyard and pigeonnier at the front. A fabulous swimming pool awaits, with a meandering 15-hectare site for you to explore or just relax in the hammocks under the trees on the woodland edge.
Nature and surroundings
La Petite Maison is situated in a unique rural setting within a short drive of Brossac village in south Charente. Nestled amongst vines, rolling hills and farmland, close to the stunning blue lakes at Guizengeard nature reserve. The rural lanes are ideal for cycling and walking and you will be rewarded with gentle Charentais countryside views, pine forest, quaint villages and in the summer maybe, a spectacular show of sunflowers. Canoe hire, fishing, riding and golf are available within half an hour's drive. The current owners live at Le Gentil; they are there if you need anything, but you have complete independence and privacy. They encourage biodiversity, working with nature and living in harmony with the natural environment. There is one other smaller gîte on the site which shares the pool. Bordering the Dordogne, Charente-Maritime and Gironde this is perfect base from which to explore and discover the nature, wealth of history, culture, and gastronomy of this area of SW France.
