There comes a time when you discover a place—one that stays with you forever... In our case, we got that feeling during our first visit to the picturesque Provençal village of Châteaudouble. A hilltop village clinging to the cliffs and overlooking the inland landscape of the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. A place connected to ancient stones and nature, where the horizon opens up before you in the morning and the sky bursts with color in the evening. Entre ciel et pierre—a description of the experience of that place. We don’t have a TV, but we do have Wi-Fi. You can enjoy a low-stimulus stay with us.
Nature and surroundings
Châteaudouble is located in the Var (83) and is set in a peaceful area. There are beautiful hiking trails along the Naturby (Gorges de Châteaudouble—though a bit off-road) and in the surrounding area. The Gorges du Verdon are an hour’s drive away, Tourtour is half an hour away, and the Mediterranean Sea (Fréjus and Sainte-Maxime) is about 50 minutes away. During the summer months, you can take a boat from these seaside resorts to destinations such as Saint-Tropez or Cannes. Those looking for more adventure can (with a guide) go canoeing, hiking, climbing, or mountain biking at the Gorges du Verdon, or take a short tour on a road bike. We’d be happy to advise you on the options and activities available. We have brochures and maps of the area available in our reception area.

- No parties or events are allowed.
- This nature house is not suitable for groups of young people, students and sports teams.
- Waste separation is mandatory in this nature house.
