Our cottage is a renovated grain mill on a river and suitable for 2 to 4 pers. Ground floor: living kitchen with a staircase leading upstairs. Second floor an open sitting area with simple double sofa bed, a bedroom with a double bed (160-200) and a bathroom with shower&toilet. The simple sofa bed is in the open space upstairs (with open connection to downstairs through the stairwell) and those who might sleep there therefore do not have their own space with privacy. The house is not suitable for people with difficulty walking and parents with babies and small children. Each season a unique stay directly on a river -where you can swim, as a tenant you must be sporty, the house is 30 m lower, from the Parking in five minutes walk through a forest path downhill to the house. The house is on the outskirts of village, sheltered between the hills by the river. Nature and peace and privacy, only 5 min drive by car to nearby villages. Ideal walking / cycling.

The house is in the Ardèche des Sources et Volcans, a hilly and mountainous area with volcanoes, springs and rivers. The region is part of the vast Parc Natural Régional de Monts d'Ardèche. Near the house there are many places to sit by the river where you can sunbathe, swim and paddle. Hikers and bike lovers can choose more or less challenging routes in this area with mountains, hills and plains. There are opportunities for mountain climbing, canyoning and canoeing. Also nearby: a climbing forest in Jaujac and an outdoor swimming pool overlooking the hills in Vals-les-Bains. Charming villages in this area include Antraigues-sur-Volane, Jaujac, Vals les Bain, Joyeuse, Vogüé, Mirabel, Balazuc and Labeaume. The path to and from the house does require some effort on the part of visitors.

The house is personally decorated and is just comfortable enough. The spot offers exceptional privacy, a lovely little stone beach with clear and fairly cool water.
The surroundings are perfect for active cyclists and hikers; after all, the Ardèche is one of the most beautiful regions in France. There are charming towns nearby, though for all activities you’ll have to walk the 5 minutes uphill to the car.
