Nature house in Coux-et-Bigaroque Mouzens

We can wholeheartedly recommend this beautiful gîte. It’s situated in an authentic, charming, and truly beautiful historic wine and walnut house. All in all, it’s very French. The spacious gîte is cozy and tastefully decorated. We slept wonderfully in the comfortable bed. The kitchen, which is also very cozy, is fully equipped. There’s also a washing machine, which is very convenient for longer stays. Wim and Mitzie are very sweet, down-to-earth, approachable, helpful, and funny people who love sharing their beautiful dream with their guests. And let’s not forget their sweet dog Flokie, who’s bilingual.
We felt completely “at home” here.

Wij kunnen deze prachtige gîte voor 200% aanbevelen. Gesitueerd in een authentiek, karakteristiek en werkelijk prachtig historisch wijn-notenhuis. Al met al; superfrans. De ruime gîte is gezellig en sfeervol ingericht. Wij hebben heerlijk geslapen in het comfortabele bed. De ook zeer gezellige keuken is van alle gemakken voorzien. Verder is er een wasmachine aanwezig, héél comfortabel voor langer verblijf. Wim en Mitzie zijn hele lieve, stoere, toegankelijke, behulpzame en ook nog eens grappige mensen die hier hun mooie droom graag met de gasten delen. En niet te vergeten de lieve hond Flokie, die twee-talig is.
We hebben ons hier volkomen "thuis" gevoeld.

A beautiful, peaceful setting surrounded by an idyllic garden. Here, you can truly unwind and enjoy wandering around. There are fantastic hiking opportunities in the surrounding area. You can bike along the rivers (the Dordogne and the Vézère) on beautiful trails and former railroad lines—the Voie Verte.
There are many interesting sights to see, including castles, caves, and more. You won’t know where to look first.

Een prachtige, rustige omgeving met een paradijselijke tuin er omheen. Je komt hier helemaal tot rust en kunt er heerlijk in ronddwalen. In de nabije omgeving kun je fantastisch wandelen. Fietsen langs de rivieren ( la Dordogne en la Vézère ) langs mooie paden en voormalige spoorlijnen; de Voie Verte.
Veel interessante bezienswaardigheden; kastelen, grotten enz. Je komt ogen te kort.

Despite the tiger mosquitoes (which the owners can’t do anything about; it’s just part of the experience), we had a fantastic stay. The cottage is incredibly cute, beautiful, and comfortable (the best mattress ever—we slept like babies), and Mitzie and Wim are warm, funny, interesting, and helpful people. The cottage is fully equipped, and if anything is missing, you can always ask them and they’ll do their best to take care of it. There was a super sweet dog that greeted us every day. Supermarkets nearby. Fresh figs and tomatoes from the garden. Too many beautiful places to see in just one vacation. Several really nice swimming spots within a half-hour drive. And my husband went on six spectacular bike rides lasting between two and five hours. Plus, there were some truly amazing hikes. We think this is one of the most beautiful vacation destinations, and this gîte is one of the best places we’ve ever stayed.

Ondanks de tijgermuggen (waar de eigenaren niets aan kunnen doen; het hoort er nu eenmaal bij) hebben we een fantastisch verblijf gehad. De gîte is ontzettend schattig, mooi en comfortabel (het beste matras ooit/heerlijk geslapen), en Mitzie en Wim zijn warme, grappige, interessante en behulpzame mensen. De gîte is van alle gemakken voorzien en mocht er iets ontbreken, dan kun je het altijd aan hen vragen en zullen ze hun best doen om het te regelen. Er was een superlieve hond die ons elke dag begroette. Supermarkten vlakbij. Verse vijgen en tomaten uit de tuin. Te veel prachtige plekken om in één vakantie te zien. Een aantal hele mooie zwemplekken op een half uurtje rijden. En mijn man heeft 6 spectaculaire fietstochten gemaakt van 2 tot 5 uur. En ook een aantal echt geweldige wandelingen. Wij vinden dit een van de mooiste vakantiebestemmingen en deze gîte is een van de beste plekken waar we ooit hebben verbleven.

Het huis en de omgeving zien er precies zo uit als op de foto's: groen (verbazingwekkend groen gezien de droogte van de afgelopen tijd), prachtig en rustig.

The house was spotless and perfectly equipped—it even has a washing machine, which is great for longer stays. I especially loved that every room has direct access to the garden. Thanks to the thick, historic walls, the house stays pleasantly cool, which is a huge plus in the height of summer. All in all, a beautifully maintained place where nothing is missing.

Das Haus war absolut sauber und perfekt ausgestattet – es gibt sogar eine Waschmaschine, was bei längeren Aufenthalten super ist. Besonders toll fand ich, dass jedes Zimmer einen direkten Zugang zum Garten hat. Durch die dicken, historischen Mauern bleibt es im Haus angenehm kühl. Was im Hochsommer ein riesiger Pluspunkt ist. Insgesamt eine top gepflegte Unterkunft, in der es an nichts fehlt.

The description almost doesn’t do it justice: the gîte is simply beautiful, idyllically situated, and perfect for completely unwinding. The nature, tranquility, and excellent amenities at this historic winery exceeded my expectations. A huge thank you to the incredibly warm and helpful hosts—I felt completely at ease and will definitely be back to recharge my batteries!

Ein absoluter Kraftort zum Entschleunigen! Wer eine Auszeit vom stressigen Alltag sucht und dringend Energie tanken muss, ist hier genau richtig. Die Beschreibung untertreibt fast: Die Gîte ist einfach schön, idyllisch gelegen und perfekt, um komplett abzuschalten. Natur, Ruhe und eine gute Ausstattung im historischen Weingut haben meine Erwartungen übertroffen. Ein riesiges Dankeschön an die unglaublich herzlichen und hilfsbereiten Gastgeber – ich habe mich rundum wohlgefühlt und komme definitiv wieder, um meine Batterien aufzuladen!
