This cozy nature house is situated in an old pigeon tower. Through the authentic front door one enters the living and kitchen area. The living room has a rustic fireplace with wood stove and a cozy sitting area. The original wall cabinets, various old elements and a spectacular view from the window provide the real French feeling. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, 4-burner induction hob, oven and refrigerator. There is also a Nespresso coffee machine, kettle and toaster. On the ground floor is a bedroom which has a romantic 2-person four-poster bed, dressing table and closet. The bathroom with a large shower (90x90), sink and toilet is located next to the bedroom. Via a staircase you enter the old pigeon tower. Here there is another cozy space to relax "on a higher level". The tower has been renovated but even here the old elements such as the original pigeon holes have been preserved.
Nature and surroundings
Gîte Le Pigeonnier is part of "La Bastide Portoly" and located on a hill with a magnificent view of the picturesque medieval town of Penne d'Agenais with its silver dome of the basilica. A significant part of the estate consists of meadows where a diversity of wild plants and rare orchids grow. There are cozy corners everywhere where you can enjoy nature. Due to its unique location there is a beautiful panoramic view over the rolling hills with its plum orchards. On the property surrounding the house are beautiful ancient (cedar) trees. The estate of 5.5 hectares consists partly of forest. You walk straight from the garden into the forest for a lovely walk. With a little luck you might spot a deer or badger. Also the owl, a welcome guest, can be seen every now and then at night.
