We are a Belgian family who moved to the beautiful south of Cantal in the summer of 2023. We were looking for tranquility, wide views and lots of nature, something we want to share! We converted an old pigsty into a modern, cozy gîte. Thanks to a large sliding window, you can also enjoy the beautiful view from inside. The cottage consists of a large living room with an open kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with fridge-freezer, hob, microwave and dishwasher. There is also a kettle, blender, toaster and a French press for coffee. In the living room there is a sitting area with wood stove. Next to the kitchen you will find the bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. On the ground floor there is one bedroom with double bed. The second bedroom is upstairs and there are four single beds, each with their own locker. The gîte is located on our property, next to our house, where everyone's privacy is guaranteed and respected.
Nature and surroundings
Our property is located on top of a hill. We also have about 20 hectares of forest near our house (just across the neighbor's meadow) which is accessible but still very pristine. We like to walk and explore it with our dog. We have an animal run with two mini pigs and a lot of chickens. Our property is surrounded by the pastures of our neighbor, who has cows on his property. In the summer we can enjoy the little calves passing by. In the vicinity are many walks and cycling or mountain biking routes. In the summer, you can cool down in the Lot river, 20 minutes away. Supermarkets and bakeries are 20 minutes away.
