This house has been our property since 1968. Recently completely renovated keeping the old romantic style, and then equipped with the modern conveniences of today. You rent the front house with the black annex. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, both for 2 persons. Downstairs there is a 5th bed in the box bed, accessible from the cozy sitting room. The dining room adjoins the open kitchen, custom made by the furniture maker, equipped with antique crockery and modern Siemens oven-microwave and buy plate. There is a luxurious bathroom, separate toilet, spacious hallway and laundry room with washer and dryer, all with underfloor heating. Outside there is a large garden with several terraces and wide views of the surrounding nature reserve. There is a private pet hole (lake) and reed area. Take a walk through the 11,000m2 of nature behind the house. For cooking enthusiasts, there is the well-equipped kitchen inside and the Ofyr bbq on the terrace. There is wifi, but it is slow (you are in the countryside).
Nature and surroundings
The house has its own nature reserve in the Rottige Meente, a nature reserve in southern Friesland. It is close to the Weerribben the much larger nature reserve just across the border in Overijssel.There are many animals living in and around our yard, deer, hares, garden birds, the hawk and the Wespendief. You can hear the clapping of the storks. You can make beautiful walks, cycling and canoeing nearby. In Ossenzijl 5 minutes away you can rent a whisper boat to go into the Weerribben. You are near the small rivers the Scheene, the Linde and the Tjonger and the beautiful area Brandemeer and 10 minutes from the Tjeukemeer. At 2 minutes you can rent canoes to explore the area from the water. If you want to come from mid-May to mid-June, know that there are midges (small gnats), if the weather is cloudy and quiet, especially in the evening outside.
