Secluded forest cottage in the pine forest between Retie and Kasterlee, where silence and nature play the main role and at night an owl can sometimes be heard. The off-grid log cabin can accommodate 4 people and pets are welcome. There are two bedrooms with 2 double beds. You use filtered rainwater that you can also take hot showers with and a dry toilet. Electricity is generated via solar panels, which you can also use for cooking; in case of low sunlight, there is a generator. The fenced off area of about 1500 m² is suitable for children and pets, who can roam freely here. Have fun logging, building cabins or, on hot days, take a refreshing dip in the nearby stream. Outside, enjoy a wood-fired hot tub under the stars, a campfire area, dutch oven, large three-legged grill and barbecue. On the porch, even when it rains, you'll sit comfortably outside surrounded by the forest.
Nature and surroundings
In the Kempen surroundings full of sagas and legends you can make beautiful walks, visit abbeys and breweries or take long bike rides along Brabant hamlets, moors and forests or explore the adjacent MTB track. For children there is plenty to discover in the area such as the gnome mountain in Kasterlee, Bobbejaanland or the witches' walk further into the forest. Within walking distance you will find, among other things, the water mill where you can canoe and have a drink or, in summer, taste the artisanal ice cream. Several supermarkets are less than a 10-minute drive away.
