This Nature House is located on a dead-end path on the outskirts of Balgoij, close to the river Maas, overlooking the dike and grazing sheep. The house has a private garden, with lounge set, dining table, hot tub and flower garden. It has 3 French doors, allowing plenty of light and views and optimal contact with the garden and nature.There is a kitchen with sofa and a dining table with 4 chairs, a bedroom with double bed and a bathroom en-suite with shower, sink and toilet. It is a wonderfully light cottage with a very nice quiet atmosphere because of the soft and natural colors and materials that have been used. In the yard of the owners are an organic vegetable garden, a beautiful flower garden and free-range chickens with organic eggs. The cottage is also very suitable for a stay as Artist in Residence because of the peace and light. A wonderful place to write or paint, relax, enjoy nature and completely unwind.
Nature and surroundings
From the cottage you can walk or cycle over the dike or through the floodplains to nearby historic villages and towns like Grave, Ravenstein, Batenburg, Hernen and Wijchen or a little further to cities like Veghel, Nijmegen, Den Bosch or Arnhem for museum visits, a day of shopping, art and culture, terraces or good restaurants. You can also visit nature reserves such as the Haterse Vennen, nature reserve Keent, Herperduin, the floodplains of the Maas and the Waal, recreational areas such as the Berendonck, De Groene Heuvels and De Gouden Ham or walk and have lunch at Kasteel Tongelaar on the beautiful estate Tongelaar. Balgoij is a small village with over 700 inhabitants. At the edge of the village is a late medieval tower.At 2.5 km is the supermarket and a little further the center of Wijchen or Grave for other stores, cafes and restaurants.There is a public transport connection to the train station in Wijchen from where you can easily travel to Nijmegen, Arnhem or Den Bosch.
