In the green heart of France, Auvergne, just outside the village of Saint Genès la Tourette, lies La Matione. This former 19th century farmhouse has been carefully restored by its current owners, and in the former hayloft lies the apartment (36 m2): clean lines, reuse of materials and optimal functionality. The studio is bathed in light and offers an open living space, where the living room, kitchen, dining area and sleeping area merge into a warm and soothing atmosphere. The spacious bed (180x200 cm) can be converted into two single beds. Next to it a shower room and toilet, a fitness room and wardrobe (26 m2).Access: via a staircase with hatch (1st floor), which preserves the authenticity of the place, but is less suitable for people with reduced mobility.On the ground floor a private entrance with storage for bicycles.For whom? For peace seekers, nature lovers, artists or writers. For anyone longing for simplicity, space and tranquility.
Nature and surroundings
La Matione (1 ha) is an ecosystem with biodiversity in garden, vegetable garden, orchard, pond and stream. Furthermore, several terraces and a jeux de boules court with views of the Puy de Dôme (1465m) and spectacular sunsets. At night it is still really dark and you can observe the twinkling stars, in silence. La Matione is located at 775m altitude in the Livradois Natural Park. It is a hilly area with small-scale cattle breeding and forests. Wonderful for walking and cycling. At 5 km is a swimming lake. Local markets with local products, nice brocantes and Romanesque churches can be found in the area. Discover French culture in Issoire (28 km), Ambert (31 km), Brioude (43 km), Clermont-Ferrand (63 km) and Vichy (82 km). The beautiful hiking and skiing area Puy de Sancy (1886m) has a cable car (70 km). In summer, here is the Horizons Art-Nature route with 10 land-art projects. This area is among the 80 volcanoes in the Chaîne des Puys, a UNESCO World Heritage site....
