It is a 1734 riverside mill, sympathetically restored into a beautiful rustic Alpine retreat. The interior is a "tapestry of oddities," blending ancient stone and 300-year-old larch timbers with modern comforts. The heart of the home is a 1,700 sq. ft. lounge featuring a hand-carved log staircase and a roaring fireplace. For larger groups, the Attica Penthouse adds an additional 1,000 sq. ft. of sanctuary. This stunning extension features a vast vaulted lounge with exposed beams and three additional double bedrooms, offering panoramic views of the river valley. In total, the estate provides a seamless flow between historic charm and expansive modern living. Sleep to the lullaby of the waterfall in our river-view suites, or relax in the Bali-style rain showers. New for Winter 25/26, the mountain-view hot tub offers the ultimate recovery after a day on the slopes. Whether used as a cozy hideaway or a grand estate, the mill is a masterpiece of light, wood, and history.
Nature and surroundings
Nestled in the "greenest valley in Italy," the mill sits on a private island-like plot where the garden dissolves into the crystal-clear Sermenza River. Guests enjoy exclusive access to a private wild-swimming lake and a secluded sandy cove—a rare luxury in the Alps. This is a land of dramatic Mountain View’s and silence, where the only soundtrack is the rushing water and the wind through the pines. We are the gateway to the Monte Rosa Ski Area; just 9 minutes from the family-friendly Alpe di Mera and 25 minutes from Alagna, the "Freeride Paradise." In summer, the Sesia River offers world-class rafting, while the surrounding forests offering beautiful hikes from our doorstep are a treasure trove for foragers Explore the ancient stone villages of the Valsesia or take a 30-minute drive to the romantic mists of Lago d’Orta. Away from light pollution, our terraces offer a brilliant canopy of stars. It is more than a location; it is a profound reconnection with the rhythms of the mountain.
