Accommodation of particular historical charm inside the tower built by Castruccio Castracani in Gattaiola at the end of the 13th century, adjacent to the monastery and church of Sant'Andrea. The accommodation is inside the minor tower connected to the major tower through a small inner courtyard, covered, overlooked by the entrance to the two rooms and the bathroom. In the mezzanine of the turret is the master bedroom: on the ground floor is a second room with two bunk beds, where it is possible to have breakfast. It has private parking and outdoor spaces.
Nature and surroundings
The military-religious complex, among the few remaining intact in Tuscany, is surrounded by a 100,000-square-meter park of gardens, orchards, olive grove and forest. An oasis of even rare plant species and flora, in perfect balance with a seasonal fauna of roe deer, badgers, wild boars, hedgehogs, and in a particular way and variety the avifauna of resident and migratory birds that animate the woods and the overlooking little valley of the Rio Campaccio since March. By prior arrangement it is possible to take some guided walks in the surroundings of Gattaiola and in the neighboring Lucca countryside as well as in the Apuan Alps and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines of Garfagnana. Podere Sant'Andrea is seven minutes from the historic center and train station of Lucca and thirty minutes from Pisa airport.
