All you hear are birds, and all you see is greenery. It's wonderfully peaceful.

Wat je hoort zijn vogels en je ziet vooral groen. Heerlijk rustig.

The cottage is small. Naturally—and understandably—this has its consequences. The countertop is small. There’s no built-in stove (the induction cooktop has to be taken out of the cabinet). The refrigerator is—and this, too, makes sense—small. There is no freezer compartment. What I’m trying to say is that I’ve experienced some limitations and that’s why I’m not giving it a 10, but I want to emphasize that I understand those limitations are there.

Het huisje is klein. Dat heeft natuurlijk- en dat is logisch- gevolgen. Het aanrecht is klein. Er is geen vaste kookplaats (inductieplat moet van de kast gehaald worden). De koelkast is- en ook dat is logisch- klein. Er is geen vriesvak. Ik wil daarmee zeggen dat ik wat beperkingen heb ervaren en dat ik daarom geen 10 geef, maar ik wil benadrukken dat ik begrijp dat die beperkingen er zijn.

As soon as you arrive, you’ll immediately feel at home in the cottage and its surroundings. The cottage is tastefully decorated. It’s a great place to stay, especially for a short visit.

Als je aankomt heb je direct een goed gevoel over het huisje en de omgeving. Het huisje is smaakvol ingericht. Heel geschikt om te verblijven, met name voor een kort verblijf.

A fully equipped and stylish cottage. There were three of us, and it worked out just fine. We had to improvise a bit with the space while cooking, but that wasn’t a problem.
Mark and Diewkje gave us three tomatoes from their own garden—a very thoughtful gesture, and they were delicious. They’re hospitable and friendly people who made our stay even more enjoyable.

Compleet en stijlvol huisje. We waren er met drie en dat ging prima. Soms wat improviseren met de ruimte als je kookt. Maar dat was geen probleem.
We kregen 3 x tomaatjes uit eigen tuin van Mark en Diewkje, heel attent én lekker. Ze zijn gastvrije en vriendelijke mensen, die ons verblijf nog aangenamer maakten.

The Vogelhuis is a wonderfully peaceful place. It offers views of the fields and plenty of open space, no matter which direction you cycle or walk in. You can simply stand or sit on the Wadden Sea dike and spend hours gazing out and listening to the birds. Marvel at the unique, large farmhouses. There’s plenty to do in the area, if you’re not looking for big-time entertainment. Culture in the form of small museums. And the ferry ride to Borkum from Eemshaven.

Het Vogelhuis is een heerlijke rustige plek. Uitzicht op de velden en ruimte welke kant je ook op fietst of wandelt. Gewoon op de waddendijk staan of zitten en eindeloos kijken en luisteren naar vogels. Je verwonderen over de unieke grote boerderijen. Genoeg te doen in de omgeving, als je niet op zoek bent naar groot vermaak. Cultuur in de vorm van kleine musea. En de overtocht naar Borkum vanaf Eemshaven.
