Come and recharge your batteries at our country home, set on the grounds of a former castle in the Yonne department, at the gateway to Burgundy. Less than 2 hours from Paris, between Sens and Auxerre, Le Colombier Vert is a peaceful haven on the outskirts of a small Burgundian village. Once the farmhouse of a castle that no longer stands, the property is owned by Régis and Véronique. Discover our charming countryside cottage, converted from an old bakery—cozy and full of character, with a view of a stunning 17th-century dovecote. Ideal for a peaceful getaway for two, it features a bright and spacious living area on the ground floor. You’ll find a fully equipped kitchen and a cozy sitting area centered around a wood-burning stove, complete with comfortable armchairs and a Bluetooth speaker. Upstairs, there’s a bedroom with a large double bed (160 cm) and a separate area with a single sofa bed (optional). The total area is 48 m². * WEEKEND OFFER: Enjoy the cottage until the end of the day on Sunday
Nature and surroundings
A place steeped in history, complete with its own herb garden. In the garden, whether from rocking chairs, hammocks, or your private terrace, you can admire the dovecote. A section of the garden is reserved just for you. It’s a great starting point for bike rides. This former royal farm consists of a dovecote, barns, unique meeting rooms, a small guesthouse, and gardens, all spread across 4 hectares. This beautiful architectural heritage site, built during the reign of Louis XIV, has been restored using eco-friendly methods. Featuring an herbalist’s garden, an ornamental garden, an aromatic vegetable garden, and an orchard, this educational garden cultivates around fifty medicinal plants. Véronique, a certified herbalist, transforms them into herbal teas, herbal salts, and syrups available for purchase on-site. The small rural village of Champlay is 5 km from Joigny, a “Town of Art and History.” Nearby attractions include Chablis and Irancy (35 min), Guédelon (50 min), Saint-Fargeau (45 min), and Vézelay (60 min).
