The Fokke Sleat houseboat is located a bit further back in the harbor on the Swette, part of the Elfstedenwater, and is just a short walk from the parking lot. Forty-five square meters for four people: a bedroom with a king-size bed, a room with a bunk bed, a private bathroom with a rain shower, and a private kitchen with a refrigerator and a Nespresso machine. Large windows overlook the water, and there is air conditioning. Outside, you’ll find a private terrace right on the water. The beds are made up upon arrival. Children are welcome, and your dog is too, for 25 euros per stay. You can reserve the Finnish sauna on the property for a fee.
Nature and surroundings
You’ll be staying at Pean-buiten Weidum, a three-hectare estate in the Frisian meadow landscape, 8 kilometers from Leeuwarden. The estate is located directly on the Elfstedenwater, the Swette, and along the Elfsteden Route: the skating route, the Elfsteden cycling route, and the stand-up paddleboarding route. From the property, you can easily cycle or walk into the countryside, passing canals, farms, and small villages. Leeuwarden is 8 kilometers away, Sneek is 15 kilometers away, and Franeker is 25 kilometers away. On the property stands the farmhouse, built in 1867, which houses Restaurant WeidumerHout. On Fridays and Saturdays, you can dine à la carte there; reservations can be made through the restaurant. In the farmhouse’s living room, there’s a self-service coffee bar. The Finnish sauna stands alone in the meadows and can be reserved year-round. You can park for free on the property and walk to your accommodations with a luggage cart.

Very well equipped, clean, excellent beds, wonderful shower. Presence of a nespresso machine, kettle and fridge an absolute bonus! We recommend everyone to dine at least once in the restaurant. Interesting menu, excellent dishes and very professional service.
Zeer goed uitgerust, schoon, uitstekende bedden, heerlijke douche. Aanwezigheid van een nespressoapparaat, waterkoker en koelkast een absolute bonus! Wij raden iedereen aan minstens 1x te dineren in het restaurant. Interessante kaart, voortreffelijke gerechten en zeer professionele bediening.
