Les Bernardies is a small old French hamlet (pre 1770) with a manor with courtyard situated on a hill. A unique place in the middle of the Perigord Noir at 13 km from Sarlat and 10 km from the Dordogne River. The cottages (8 in total) are all renovated stone buildings of which Lou Goratse is one of them. Each cottage has its own characteristics (location, view, decoration). Lou Goratse is an attached cottage but still has a lot of privacy due to its large terrace (south facing) with fantastic views of the surroundings. On the ground floor the cottage has a spacious pleasant living room with dining area and wood stove, bathroom, kitchen, the master bedroom with double bed and the 2nd bedroom with 2 beds. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink. The kitchen has an oven, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker (Nespresso) and kettle. The 3rd bedroom is in the tower. The cottage is electrically heated.
Nature and surroundings
Les Bernardies is located in the middle of a hilly area of a succession of forests, fields, fields, and small characteristic villages. It is especially peaceful, quiet and relaxed. At les Bernardies there is a beautiful swimming pool, a playground with playhouse, a jeu de boule court, a courtyard, and of course our animals: donkeys, goats, guinea pigs, chickens. Wifi (fiber optic) is available in the public areas (courtyard, pool) and there is a car charger. Two official hiking trails and a VTB trail start from the gate, but there are many trails and other walks/routes in the area. Les Bernardies is perfectly situated for trips into the Dordogne, western Correze and the Lot. The Dordogne and Vezere rivers are great for canoeing and swimming. There are numerous castles (Beynac, Castelnaud, Fenelon, Milandes, Comarque), villages (Sarlat, Domme, Roque-Gageac, Souillac, Martel, Rocamadour), and gardens (Eyrignac, Marquessac, Jardin d'eau, Cadiot) and caves (Padirac)
