This nature house is located on the Estate of the former Havezathe Plekenpol, surrounded by a monumental moat. The history of the Estate dates back to the year 1225 and the main building and the garden with its special trees have had monument status since the end of 2025.The nature house can be reached via a private driveway, which leads over a bridge over the moat through an orchard to the house. The house has its own private garden with seating both in the garden and on the meadow next to it among the fruit trees. On the ground floor are the bathroom, living and dining room, toilet and kitchen. Stairs in the hallway lead to the upstairs bedrooms. Within walking distance are several restaurants and the beach pool. The cozy village of Winterswijk, lying on the German border, can be reached by bicycle within minutes.
Nature and surroundings
The house is located directly on various cycling and walking routes, you step out the door and can choose a route through the woods or a walk on the adjacent Bleekersweide. Winterswijk is known for its scenic landscape, historic farms and 4 Natura 2000 areas. Right next to the Plekenpol are two old water mills with a cozy terrace next to them. The center of Winterswijk has many shopping opportunities and cozy cafes and restaurants, not to mention the weekly goods market on Wednesday and Saturday.
