Nature house in Westernieland

The former worker's house -built in 1904- has recently been completely modernized. The detached vacation home for 3 + 2 persons, has a spacious living room with comfortable seating area and a flat screen TV . The open kitchen has a fridge-freezer, induction hob with integrated extractor, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, coffee maker and Senseo. A shower with sink and separate toilet. Downstairs is a bedroom with bunk beds (190 x 90 cm) and large closet. The cozy upper floor, accessible via a steep staircase, has a headroom of about 168 cm under the characteristic juffers. On the spacious floor are three single box-spring beds (200 × 90 cm). For added convenience, there is a washing machine and thanks to the underfloor heating, the house always feels nice and warm. Surrounding the vacation home is a spacious garden, with a grove behind it that belongs entirely to the residence. Upon arrival, the beds are made for you!

This nature house stands on the edge of the Linthorst Homanpolder, a vast polder north of the village of Westernieland (N-Gron). Near the house a monument reminds of the workers who lost their lives during the reclamation in the 1930s. The sea dike -a few minutes walk away- is a popular route for hikers and cyclists and offers views of salt marshes, land and in the distance the Wadden Sea. The Wadden Sea is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for its changing nature and beautiful skies. At ± 4 kilometers lies nature reserve De Klutenplas, a brackish water area for birds. In neighboring village Pieterburen begins the Pieterpad, the most famous long-distance hiking trail in the Netherlands. The house is located directly on the route of the Prologue and 10 kilometers from Winsum, the end point of the first stage. Winsum was named "the most beautiful village in the Netherlands" in 2020. A visit to Noordpolderzijl -the smallest seaport in the Netherlands- is also worthwhile!
