Here begins a conservation project for a green space in the heart of Cantabrian Mountains, with the vision of transforming it into a lush garden among fruit trees. Perfect for working and relax with easy access. The rustic cottage or "cabaña" is located on the fruit trees field, restored from an old mill mainly with stone and wood. Simple and well-equipped it has 35 m2 plus a storage room in the lower part. With an open plan living room with sofa bed, an studio, small bathroom and kitchen. Within a plot of more than 3000 m2, much of it planted with fruit trees that attract a great variety of birds throughout the day. From a small terrace you can observe the sky on clear nights while listening to the sound of the river flowing at the bottom of the valley. Very close to a quiet road (except on sunny holidays, due to the restaurant located about 500 m away of the cabaña or the famous village of Barcena Mayor) that provides easy and quick access to the cabin (via a 50-meter path/to park ).
Nature and surroundings
Located in a valley where horses, cows, and sheep are raised, this quiet and picturesque area has small inns and traditional houses that preserve the atmosphere of the mountainous region of Cantabria. You will find basic services in the surrounding area (restaurant, spa, bakery, pharmacy, medical services, etc.) and everything else in Cabezon de la Sal (about 20 minutes away by car). Perfect for hiking with many routes to choose from in the area, offering varying degrees of difficulty. With various routes for cyclists, both for mountain biking and road cycling. With electric bikes for rent in Cabezon de la Sal and mountain bikes in Ucieda. And there is even a small ski resort -Alto Campoo- with snow park too. We would be delighted to welcome your pet, but always with the commitment that it will not leave marks inside the cabin (and of course will not get on the sofa). Thanks for your understanding.
