You will stay in a house with a rich history in the region of the reservoir. It is not known exactly how old the house is, but certainly more than 100 years. At the time of the construction of the reservoir (around 1950) there was a "taberna," a pub, in the house. Traces of this past are still present in the house, such as an earthenware jug masonry in the wall. In 2015, the house was completely renovated and a part was built in the original style. For the renovation and extension, a conscious choice was made to use sustainable, natural and environmentally friendly materials. Comfort and tranquility continue outside. On two sides of the house there is a terrace made of natural stones from the immediate vicinity of the house. The garden is a mixture of an orchard and an ornamental garden that gradually merges with nature.
Nature and surroundings
This by many guests also called "the little paradise", is located near the Arade reservoir near the historic town of Silves in the Algarve. The Quinta consists of a set of 3 completely independent houses, two of which are for rent and the other is the home of Jan, the host. Each house has the privacy you need to spend a relaxing vacation in a natural environment with a private pool, terraces and a garden for walking. On the "Quinta" there are several fruit trees and an organic vegetable garden available to guests, availability depends on the time of year. From the terrace you can see and hear bird species such as the kingfisher, blue rock thrush, hoopoe and blue magpie passing by daily. Bee-eater, oriole and nightingale are also numerous but can be found in tropical Africa during the winter months.
