The nature house is located on the cozy natural campground (1 hectare) behind our farmhouse, which has an orchard with apple, pear, and plum trees. Here, you can enjoy peace, space, and greenery. In the fall, winter, and spring, it’s wonderfully peaceful here, and the nights are dark, often featuring beautiful starry skies. It’s a place to relax, recharge, and leave the hustle and bustle of daily life behind. The nature house is accessible by NS bike from either the Twello or Deventer train stations. The cottage (80 m²) features a fully equipped kitchen. The spacious bathroom is on the ground floor, and the first floor has two very spacious bedrooms. There’s a wood stove to help you enjoy the short days even more. Two bicycles are available for your use. There’s also a private garden with a picnic table. If you’re lucky, we can offer you apple juice from our own orchard—and hopefully our own apple cider in the future as well.
Nature and surroundings
Here you can hear flocks of waterfowl flying overhead. Storks, owls, hares, martens, and sometimes a pheasant have been spotted here. From the house, it’s just a 2-minute walk to the dike, where you can enjoy a view of the Deventer skyline. Take a leisurely stroll through the floodplains of the beautiful IJssel River. Or hike one of the Klompenpaden trails. Cycle through the IJssel Valley past old farms, country estates, or along the Hanseatic towns—or even all the way to the Hoge Veluwe Nature Park. A delightful combination of the tranquility of nature and the bustle of the historic city, with charming shops, restaurants, and museums. The nature house is part of the charming natural campground De Polmate. Due to limited parking during peak-season weekends and weeks, we ask that you come with as few cars as possible. Taking the train is also a great option; we’ll pick you up from the station upon request. Or you can rent NS bikes; it’s a 15-minute bike ride and a 40-minute walk.

Highly recommended!

The cottage is located on a small nature campground, and it’s very peaceful here. We thoroughly enjoyed the sounds of the birds.
The garden was full of fruit in August. We were allowed to pick as much as we wanted.
Unfortunately, there was sometimes some noise from motorcycles on the dike.
The cottage was fully equipped with all the amenities. The bedrooms and beds are excellent and spacious.
Our tip is to bring a few lightweight camping chairs. A beach umbrella would also be welcome.
The welcome and communication with the manager were very pleasant.Het huisje ligt op een mini natuurcamping en hier is het zeer rustig. We hebben volop genoten van de vogelgeluiden.
De tuin stond in augustus vol met vruchten. Hier mochten we naar hartelust van plukken.
Helaas soms wat geronk van motoren op de dijk.
Het huisje was van alle gemakken voorzien. De slaapkamers met de bedden zijn prima en royaal.
Onze tip is een aantal lichtgewicht campingtuinstoelen aan te schaffen. Ook een parasol zal welkom zijn.
