You stay in the former work warehouse of the harbor master, free and with a beautiful view over the Eastern Scheldt where the vistas change permanently. Downstairs there is a spacious living/dining room with simple kitchen (fridge and small dishwasher available!) and a sunken TV in the old workbench. The sliding doors give direct access to the outside where you can sit or lie down on the long wooden bench against the house. The stone stairs take you to the bank in a few moments and you can enter the water via the "hidden" staircase. The rooms upstairs are decorated according to the elements: the fire room (2p), with views on all sides where the colors red and orange predominate -also in the shower!- with box-spring bed and sink. The earth room (2p) also has double windows, its own shower and a hanging chair to enjoy the view even more relaxed. The water room (1p) is furnished as a cabin; you sleep high up and of course you have a bath and porthole here.
Nature and surroundings
In the middle of the Oosterschelde National Park, near the mussel village Bruinisse lies our 'Krabbenhuis'; with a view of the old ferry port, the tide, the porpoises in the distance and the occasional seal poking its head up. But also the birds, such as the oystercatcher, curlew, redshank and sandpiper are there, In season you can see the flowering sea lavender and bright green samphire (crabgrass as they call it in Zeeland) and throughout the year the oysters and periwinkles are literally there for the taking. Be overwhelmed by the colors, the light, the wind, the salty smell and the water. Swim, snorkel, canoe, bike or hike. The surroundings invite you to be part of this unique National Park. Don't forget to visit the Watersnoodmuseum; 10 kilometers by bike along the water from 't Krabbenhuis. And just a little further away; the monumental Zierikzee. Electric riders can charge at our place so you can be in Antwerp or Rotterdam quickly as well.
