The rustico is located on the hiking trail to Cardada, 250 m from the parking lot. It consists of a living room with fireplace and balcony, two bedrooms, hallway, eat-in kitchen with fridge without freezer compartment, shower/WC and cellar. The rooms are ideal for a stay of 2-3 persons and offer a pleasant 3-star superior comfort. The house and its surroundings are unsuitable for small children. From the garden with seating area you can look out over Lake Maggiore, the Brissago Islands (193 m above sea level = lowest point in Switzerland), the Monte Rosa massif (4634 m above sea level = highest point in Switzerland) and the Ligurian Alps, 240 km away. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life for a while without having to do without the comforts of a modern infrastructure, a stay at "Casa Romantica" is a unique experience that is second to none.
Nature and surroundings
Casa Romantica is located in the middle of the forest and is a wonderful place for nature lovers, hikers, bikers, musicians, writers, etc. You can reach the parking lot from Locarno in just under 30 minutes by car, including 7 km of narrow and winding mountain road with many passing places. You should know how to reverse on the mountain. If you arrive by public transport, take the bus and cable car from Locarno-Muralto station via Orselina to Cardada and then walk down to the house in about 30 minutes. In Cardada you will find various leisure activities and several restaurants. Several hikes can be undertaken directly from the house. Excursions to the Ticino valleys or to Italian markets offer a lively change from the quiet forest life.
