One of the two vacation homes we have is the oldest house in the hamlet Haute Serre, and dates back to the 16th century. On the ground floor there is a spacious living room with wood stove and a kitchen area, equipped with a dishwasher, coffee maker (+ Senseo), kettle, oven and a 4 burner gas hob. Upstairs there is a large room with a double bed and a sitting area with (sleeping) chairs, where another person can sleep. The shower room and a separate toilet are also located here. Because of the many steps up and down the cottage is not suitable for disabled people, and there is nothing for children to do. Our second cottage (cottage 36221) is suitable for up to 4 people, making it possible to stay overnight with 6 people (subject to availability).
Nature and surroundings
From the cottage you walk directly into the forest and nature, you can walk endlessly and enjoy the views and tranquility. There are also plenty of opportunities for cycling or mountain biking in the area. The lake Etang Neuf is about five kilometers away, The mountain peaks of Mont Dore and Puy de Dome can be reached by car or motorcycle in about an hour, as well as Clermont-Ferrand (with its black cathedral) and Montlucon. In romantic Evaux Les Bains are the Fin de siècle thermal baths. Aubusson, famous for its tapestries, is also not far from here. In Auzances (12 kilometers) is a supermarket, gas station and several other nice stores and restaurants.
