One of the two nature houses we have is the oldest one in the hamlet Haute Serre, and dates back to the 16th century. On the ground floor there is a spacious living room with wood stove and a kitchen area, equipped with a dishwasher, coffee maker (+ a Senseo), kettle, oven and a 4 burner gas hob. Upstairs there is a large room with a double bed and a sitting area with (sleeping) chairs, where another person can sleep. The shower room and a separate toilet are also made here. Because of the many steps up and down, the nature house is not suitable for disabled people, and there is nothing to do for children. Our second nature house (cottage 36221) is suitable for up to 4 people, which gives the combination possibility to stay overnight with 7 people (if available).
Nature and surroundings
The Creuse is located in central France, roughly between Limoges and Clermont-Ferrand. A region with rolling hills, rivers and quiet villages, which most people drive past on their way south. Tourism here is very small-scale, so plenty to discover for yourself. Highlights are Aubusson, a beautiful town world famous for its tapestries. And the historic town of Guére. Around Lac de Vassivière you can swim, boat and discover modern art at the island museum. And hike to the ruins of Château de Crozant, picturesquely situated above the Creuse River. Precisely because the Creuse is so unknown, it feels like an authentic piece of France
