Nature house in São Luís

Our Casita Oliva (35 m²), located just a 5-minute walk from downtown São Luís, consists of a living room with a kitchen (equipped with, among other things, a refrigerator, gas stove, 2 coffee makers, an electric kettle, and a microwave), a bedroom (with a double bed measuring 1.40 x 2.00 m), and a bathroom with a toilet, sink, shower, and washing machine. The living room/kitchen features a dining table with four chairs and a sofa bed (1.40 x 2.00 m), and there is a TV with Portuguese channels. A crib is available upon request. The nature house has its own driveway and is fenced on all sides. In front of the house is a large terrace (4 x 7 m), half of which is covered. The view overlooks our property (0.8 ha), the chicken coop, and the swimming pool (4.5 x 7 m). Free Wi-Fi is available, and pets (up to 2) are welcome. We have 3 dogs, 7 cats (2 of which are almost always near the cottage), chickens, and a rooster roaming around. Please note: You’ll need to cross our property—and pass by our dogs—to get to the pool, which isn’t a problem for them.

The village of São Luís is located in the Baixo Alentejo region between Cercal and Odemira on the N120 Lisbon-Algarve highway, about a 2-hour drive from both Lisbon and Faro airports, and just 15 minutes from the coast and beaches. Our house is located on the outskirts of the village and is very easy to reach. Between São Luís and the coast lies the beautiful Parque Natural Sudoeste Alentejano Costa Vicentina, a perfect spot for fantastic, peaceful nature walks. São Luís (and our vacation home) is actually located right on one of the beautiful hiking trails, the “Historical Way,” part of the Rota Vicentina, which runs from Cercal to Odemira, among other places. The nearest beach town is V.N. de Milfontes (15 km), which is mainly visited by Portuguese tourists and where you’ll find many charming restaurants and shops. This is where the Mira River—the cleanest river in Europe—flows into the Atlantic Ocean, and you’ll find beautiful beaches, both along the river and by the ocean.
