The atmospheric Dome is part of the Plekenpol estate. It is completely free in the beautiful coulisse landscape with views over the adjacent nature. The dome is a historic hunting dome but today meets all the living comforts of our time. There is a spacious kitchen and large living-sitting room with beautiful views to the south and characteristic fireplace with wood stove. There are 2 bedrooms with 2 single beds each. A baby or cot for a small child is available after consultation. There is a modern bathroom with shower and toilet and a second toilet in the spacious hallway. In front of the dome is a large south-facing terrace with the same view and lots of privacy. Washer and dryer are available.The Dome is just 3 kilometers from the cozy center of Winterswijk where there is much to do and a wide choice of restaurants. From the dome many walking and cycling routes can be picked up directly. The Slinge brook meanders beautifully through the estate.
Nature and surroundings
From the Dome, the Natura 2000 area the Bekendelle is quickly accessible. The stream-forest is crossed by the Slingebeek. Around Winterswijk in the attractive rolling coulisse landscape are the 3 Natura 2000 areas Korenburgerveen, Wooldseveen and the Willinks Weust. The Steengroeve next to the latter shows why Winterswijk is called the mosaic floor of the Netherlands. The extremely old earth layers that day here contain fossils, minerals, paw prints and footprints. There are guided tours through 100%Winterswijk.In the immediate vicinity are 2 historic water mills and the monumental Strandbad within walking distance. The many streams, forests, wooded banks and lanes make the Winterswijk National Landscape a wonderful destination in all seasons. The many cycling and walking routes invite you to experience the landscape. There is an 18 hole golf course nearby.15 minutes away in Germany is the city of Bocholt. A little further away is historic Münster.
