NEW!!! Welcome to our rural nature house. Here you can enjoy breathtaking sunsets from the terrace in the middle of the countryside on the edge of the Blue Forest. The cozy abode, built in 2022, is built into the back of a wooden barn in its own residential yard, giving you plenty of privacy. The abode is made almost entirely of wood and exudes warmth, comfort and character with modern conveniences like underfloor heating. Inside you will find an open kitchen with dishwasher, fridge-freezer + induction. A separate bedroom with double box springs and a comfortable, spacious bathroom with shower and toilet. Linen is provided. From the garden doors you can sometimes see deer, hares or even a badger walking by. In the yard live two curious Maine-Coon tomcats that complete the rural picture. The residence is on a dead-end, unpaved path and has its own hiking trail leading into the Blue Forest.
Nature and surroundings
The nature area around our nature house invites you to walk, cycle and experience nature. From the yard you walk into the Blue Forest, with varied heathlands, fens, animals, plants and forests. The nearby Fochteloërveen is also ideal for a bike ride or hike. Cyclists and hikers easily discover routes to Bakkeveen, Norg and Veenhuizen, where culture, history and local restaurants can be found. The village of Haulerwijk offers amenities such as bicycle rental, stores and an outdoor swimming pool. A unique feature of Haulerwijk is that it lies at the three-province point where Groningen, Friesland and Drenthe meet. Thanks to its central location, Assen, Groningen, Drachten and Heerenveen are quickly accessible, and even the Wadden Islands can be easily visited as a day trip from here. Here you can combine rest, nature and culture in a unique place in the Northern Netherlands.
