Le Cadran Solaire In the Morvan Regional Nature Park, in a quiet hameau lies our detached vacation home Le Cadran Solaire. A place where you can completely unwind and enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view over the rolling hills of Burgundy and the picturesque village of Moulins-Engilbert. Although you're staying in the countryside, you're still close to all amenities; the lively village of Moulins-Engilbert is a short distance away and offers a bakery, butcher, supermarket and cozy restaurants. The ideal combination of rural and practical. The area invites active exploration: beautiful hiking and cycling trails start almost at the door. In addition, numerous trips are possible to historic cities such as Autun, Moulins, Nevers, Vezelay, Dijon and Beaune. Also the characteristic Burgundian villages and the many charming flea markets complete the vacation feeling.
Nature and surroundings
The Morvan Regional Natural Park, of which James is a part, is an unspoiled, hilly area with valleys, forests and large lakes. For peace seekers, this area offers numerous possibilities. From the gîte you can take walks that will take you past panoramic views and picturesque farms, or you can explore the nearby Burgundian villages by foot or bicycle. In the summer months many lively brocantes are organized in the surrounding villages. Le Cadran Solaire is also an ideal place for numerous activities. From the cottage you can explore the mountain bike trails in the area indicated MTB. With racing bike you can climb and descend the winding mountain roads. In Moulins-Engilbert and the nearby Château-Chinon and Saint-Honoré-les Bains (spa with thermal baths) are several restaurants where you can enjoy a delicious Burgundian meal and a good glass of wine.
