Nature house in MONT-SAXONNEX
Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France
- 15 persons
- 5 bedrooms
- Pets allowed
This house is an old farmhouse that my parents bought in 1967, which they completely restored at the time, and which for the last 2 years I have fitted out and improved so as to be able to rent it out and let people discover this extraordinary place. The chalet is spacious and very comfortable. It sleeps 13 in the bedroom, plus 2 on the sofa bed in the living room. Garden furniture means you can have lunch outside. There's no WiFi here, but the local 4G/5G network is available. The chalet is located in the hamlet of Les Vuargnes, 3 km above Mont-Saxonnex. It's the last house at the end of the road. There are no passing cars here. You can enjoy the silence and total immersion in the mountains, surrounded by a breathtaking, peaceful landscape. Evenings are cool, even when it's hot in the valley. Ideal for a week of walking and relaxing with family or friends. You might even spot a deer coming out of the woods.
Nature and surroundings
Additional blankets are provided. Comfortable beds and new mattresses. An open fire is very pleasant in the evening. What's more, when it's cool, the fireplace insert is a very efficient way of heating. I offer a 50-euro wood kit that lets you build a nice fire for fifteen hours or so, and heat it at the same time if it's cool. If it's cold, you can turn on the heating for an average of 40 Euros/day (thermostat at 19°C). Oil consumption is indeed high, as I haven't yet completed the insulation work. From the house, it's easy to get around on foot or by bike. Otherwise, it takes less than 10 minutes to drive down to the bakery. There's a good bakery and grocery store in the village. On Saturday mornings, there's a street vendor selling fruit and vegetables, and on Sunday mornings, Claire the farmer sells her cheese opposite the bakery.

Great. I really relaxed here. Lots of space and nature.
The stores are too far to walk to.
A friendly landlord who goes out of his way to make his guests feel at home.Goed.
The vacation home is situated in a uniquely peaceful location surrounded by nature.
The drive up to it is an adventure in itself.
It’s a large, classic-style house with a rich history. Five bedrooms, new and, above all, clean showers and restrooms.
Good refrigerator/freezer. A spacious house with beautiful views.
Plenty of space around the house. Truly peaceful surroundings. The house is located at the end of a steep, rocky road. Sometimes you’ll see a hiker coming down from the mountain toward Lac Benit,
Important to note:
The owner, Yves, is a great host who lives in a separate part of the house. He is very hospitable and helpful, speaks perfect English, and offers tips. He doesn’t impose himself, but is available if you need him.
P.S.: Delicious pastries at the bakery/patisserie in Mont Saxonnex. An 8-minute drive away.
We visited Lac Benit first. It’s a beautiful hike straight from our house—a 350-meter climb—and well worth the effort.
Goede koelkast/vrieskast.
This text is automatically translated.
