For rent: our cozy guest house annex studio on the Hoornse Vaart near Leens (The Hogeland / Marne area / North Groningen). Free location in a large garden. Living room of 30 m2 with central heating, wood stove, well-stocked bookcase, a dining cum work table and a comfortable sofa with views over water and meadows and in the distance (2 km) the village of Leens. Spectacular sunsets. kitchen with all necessities (inc. oven, but no freezer and dishwasher). Opening doors to a large dock with several nice sitting and working areas. Cozy bedroom with double bed (1.40 x 2.00), sink, shower and toilet. Ideal for hikers, cyclists, readers, lovers of nature, peace and quiet and home workers who want a different view.
Nature and surroundings
Around Leens a finely meshed network of bicycle junctions has been constructed and various walking routes run. Also in the vicinity: beautiful Groningen villages, including Winsum, Zoutkamp and Pieterburen, the nature reserve and water sports park Lauwersmeer. Twenty minutes away: the fish auction in Lauwersoog with various fish restaurants and arrival-departure of the boat to Schiermonnikoog. Just opened: the De Ploeg Museum in Wehe-den Hoorn and the Waddenzee World Heritage Center in Lauwersoog. Further in Leens: the borg and the Verhildersum estate, a large outdoor swimming pool and a well-stocked Jumbo and Aldi. We are happy to inform you about the various (fish) restaurants in the area. Our studio is located at 't Stort, a North Groningen hamlet near Leens, consisting of eight cottages built on a rampart dumped along the canal. The landscape with its picturesque mars is a unique vacation area.
