A COMFORTABLE LIVING IN AN AUTHENTIC PASTORY OF 1860 Our luxury room (belle étage, front) is about 20m2 and offers annex a large bathroom with bath, shower, 2 sinks, a bidet and toilet. The double bed is 160 cm wide. From the room you overlook the little church which dates from the same time as the presbytery. Because the rectory is located at the end of a dead-end road, it is almost completely quiet here, except for bird sounds and the striking of the bells of the church (which is located opposite the rectory). The breakfast I serve is not very extensive but certainly sufficient and on request (and for a small extra charge) expansion with, for example, an egg or fresh juice is certainly possible. As a hostess I do my utmost to make my guests comfortable. And do you come alone? Then you get a VIP-treatment!
Nature and surroundings
The rectory is on the outskirts of a small village: Marigny-sur-Yonne, surrounded by woods and hilly country. At 500 m distance is the Canal du Nivernais with its lock keeper houses from the end of the last century. Lovely walks and cycling along the canal! Marigny-sur-Yonne is close to one of the most beautiful natural areas of France: the Morvan. At a distance of a 25 min drive you will find beautiful (swimming) lakes: Lac de Panecière, Lac de Chaumecon and Lac de Setton. Closer by is Étang de Veau et Baye (14 km) and Étang de Merle (24 km), nice recreational lakes with beaches. Culture can be found in the surrounding towns: Clamecy (beautiful Gothic church and medieval district) and beautiful Vezelay, for example, which attracts about 750,000 visitors a year. And many concerts are organized in the churches. All amenities are in Corbigny, 4 km from Marigny-sur-Yonne: 3 bakeries, 5 restaurants, 2 supermarkets, a pharmacy, veterinary practice etc.
